The Fluxion BioFlux dual gas control module, when coupled to a 24-well BioFlux plate, allows control of oxygen concentration to mimic processes where O2 levels play a significant role in disease progression. With the BioFlux system, up to 8 experiments can be conducted simultaneously while both shear rates and gas partial pressures are controlled.This facilitates the establishment of robust in vitro models where tissue/organ oxygenation is severely disturbed in pathological states such cancer, coronary heart disease, and diabetes. Microbiological niche environments exhibiting oxygen gradients, like oral biofilms involved in periodontitis, can also be replicated.
