The best way to fragment DNA for genomic and paired end library construction

Aug 5, 2019

The NextGen Shear replaces the manual valve in the HydroShear with an automated multi-port valve, allowing for automation of multiple washeds, and eliminates the need to manually operate the sample and wash valve. With Digilab NextGen Shear DNA Shearing, virtually any source of DNA at any concentration in volumes as small as 40μl can be randomly fractured to within a two-fold size distribution. For instance, if the desired target size is 2kb, the NextGen Shear can be calibrated to produce a distribution centered on 2kb with 90% of the DNA falling between 1.3kb and 2.6kb – ideal for paired-end library construction. It is the best system for making long DNA fragments for single molecule sequencing.
