SOMATIC 1 MASTR Plus - Multiplicom

For the identification of all mutations in the NRAS, KRAS and BRAF genes

The SOMATIC 1 MASTR Plus is a molecular assay (Research Use Only) for the identification of all mutations in the NRAS, KRAS and BRAF genes in individuals with various types of cancer. The flexible kit either allows a test for the most frequent mutations (plex 1 only) or for the entire coding region of NRAS, KRAS and BRAF.

The NRAS, KRAS and BRAF genes have been identified as cancer-associated genes. Mutations in these genes have been observed in a variety of cancers such as pancreas, thyroid follicular and colorectal cancers, adenocarcinoma, myeloid disorders and melanoma.

The frequency rate and prevalence of these oncogenic mutations in NRAS, KRAS and BRAF differs between different types of cancer. Therefore, the SOMATIC 1 MASTR Plus has been designed to allow a flexible selection of the genes to be analyzed where the full coding region of KRAS and NRAS, as well as the V600 (exon 15) hotspot region in the BRAF gene can be completely analyzed in only one multiplex PCR reaction (i.e. plex 1). Full exon coverage of BRAF is provided in two additional plexes. Combining the three plexes in parallel ensures full coverage of all three genes.

Compared to current mutation analysis methods, the SOMATIC 1 MASTR Plus offers a fast and cost-effective approach for the identification of oncogenic mutations, which due to its flexible design, can be tailored to the specific research needs.
