Tumor Hotspot MASTR Plus - Multiplicom

SNVs and CNAs in frequently mutated genes in solid tumors

The Tumor Hotspot MASTR™ Plus is a molecular assay (research use only) for the identification of SNVs and CNAs in frequently mutated genes in solid tumors. The assay is designed in collaboration with the ‘Institut National du Cancer’ (INCa) of France using their clinically relevant selection of frequently occurring mutations (hotspots) in 26 genes. The panel focuses on actionable hotspot mutations in a wide variety of solid tumors. This means they have either therapeutic or prognostic value for different solid tumors, enabling a personalized medicine approach.

Molecular diagnosis is rapidly incorporated in the clinical practice to guide diagnosis and therapeutic options tailored to the cancer patients. To aid the diagnosis, Multiplicom has assembled a gene panel of 26 frequently mutated genes (hotspots), in collaboration with INCa, which have diagnostic value for physicians. By focusing on clinically relevant genes and by amplifying only the hotspot target region, a high depth of sequencing coverage per run is produced resulting in a cost-effective and efficient method for discovering rare somatic mutations.

Most of the genes that are targeted in the Tumor Hotspot MASTR Plus assay are involved in the PI3K/PTEN/AKT pathway, the RAS-RAF-MEK-MAPK pathway or the TCA cycle. These are key signaling pathways involved in the regulation of cell growth, cell proliferation, cell cycle progression, apoptosis (regulated cell death) and energy metabolism.

Note: This assay is to be used for research use only.
