The Allevi 3 3D bio-printer was loaned to the Laboratory of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering of the Institute of Physiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic for printing from matrices based on biomolecules or synthetic molecules, including biodegradable thermoplastics. Since this type of printer has three print heads, it allows printing from different types of materials at once, as well as combining different cell types in one tissue construct. We use this and will use it for our research on the construction of connective tissues. This 3D bio-printer also gives us new possibilities for the construction of structured or stratified tissues, such as the skin or the wall of blood vessels, which are other topics addressed in our laboratory.

"The Ami HTX optical imaging system is a flexible tool that we utilize for a range of in vivo and in vitro experiments. The software is intuitive and simple to use. This technology provides a great sensitivity, which is required for our experiments. The system is extremely stable, as there is no external refrigeration system to fail. The hardware is easy to operate and the compact size of the machine saves the working space."

Webinar recording: Analysis of extracellular vesicles by AMNIS imaging flow cytometer

Although conventional flow cytometry is limited to measure small particles down to approximately 300 nm – 500 nm, an innovative flow-cytometric method called “imaging flow cytometry” allows the analysis and imaging of EVs smaller than 300 nm.
